| St. Marks Cathedral
Seattle, Washington
A comprehensive study for the upgrading
of St. Mark's, a prominent Seattle landmark. The building
includes a three-story tall nave with ancillary lobby
and choir/organ spaces, a chapel, classrooms, and a
multi-purpose auditorium. The feasibility of adding
a tall steeple commensurate with the original design
was studied. The structure includes massive concrete
walls with steel and concrete framed floors and a steel
and wood-framed roof. The study evolved into the design
and construction of a short range upgrade with additional
modifications to occur long range. Photo credit: Nicole
