Reconstruction of an existing heavy
timber historic hay barn into a retail and historical
museum. The existing heavy timber structure was seismically
upgraded with a tension-only braced system and the existing
gravity systems were strengthened to meet current live
load requirements. The project emphasized “Green
Engineering,” concentrating on the use of pre-manufactured
wood products made from waste wood products. The project
