Science Building 2900 Renovation

Structural engineering design services for the $3.5 million renovation, addition and seismic rehabilitation of the existing Building 2900 at the Shoreline Community College Campus. The renovation remodeled the building from the Student Center into a new Science Building for the Community College. Improvements to the building include: a new global lateral resisting system consisting of reinforced concrete shear walls at the lower level and plywood sheathed light gage metal shear walls at the upper lever floor, a new exterior steel stair tower, a new exterior elevator tower, substantial reconfiguration of the existing structural system on the main and upper floors to reprogram the building for classrooms and labs.
