| Our Lady of Guadalupe
Seattle, Washington
Our Lady of Guadalupe School, built in 1962, is a classic mid-century, three story concrete building which serves as a private school for elementary age children. Swenson Say Fagét preformed post-earthquake evaluation after the Nisqually Earthquake which led to a seismic retrofit of the school. The retrofit consisted of a cost effective steel exoskeleton that allowed the school to remain in open during construction. The rehabilitated structure met the tougher requirements if the International Building Code for schools and was completed for a final project cost of $456,000.
