Bellingham City Hall
Bellingham, Washington
The first phase of seismic work will include the stabilization of the existing cantilever parapet walls, the evaluation and possible strengthening of the exterior stone veneer, the stabilization of the exterior glass block wall system and an enhancement/addition to the main entry of the building. This scope of work is the beginning of the implementation of our study of the building completed approximately two years ago. The study involved working with city officials to establish evaluation criteria and research and investigation, including field investigation of site conditions and the development of a 3-D model to predict building behavior during seismic activity. From our findings, a detailed report was produced assessing seismic vulnerability to the building, recommendations for mitigation, assessment of any code related impacts on proposed work, and a cost estimate.
